Savage Gulf Hike

So my roommate Barrett and his girlfriend Kristin and I, went for a Memorial Day weekend hike at Savage Gulf State Recreational Area in Grundy County, Tennessee. We started at Stone Door...which is an amazing view of the valley below and hiked down into the gorge below. Lots of GREEN this time of year. It was nice. We hiked 10 miles...and I didn't even die...but I almost did. heh. (Click the pic for more)

2011 Cicada Infestation

I'm a little obsessed with these things. It's sort of like a car wreck, you don't really want to see it, but then you can't look away... These are all taken in my back yard. I do love their song...the sound of summer!

A Fantastic Spring Day at Radnor Lake

Wow. The images from Radnor today are striking. The reflections in the lake today were amazing. It was so relaxing and peaceful. Life was everywhere, turtles, deer, fish, birds of all kinds, ducks, and geese. It was a wonderful afternoon.

Bill & Christina's Wedding

My friends got married yesterday. Congrats to Bill and Christina! It was a gorgeous day for a wedding and they made a really sweet bride and groom. They had me take their photographs, which was an honor and a challenge. I actually did the photos two years ago for Christina's sister, a very small family wedding. This was the first "big" wedding. Talk about NERVOUS! But I think it went well over all. Here are a few of the photographs I took. She was a beautiful bride. (Click the pic for more)

Easter Drive Home

I headed down to my mom and dad's for Easter. On the return ride home, I decided to drive through Lawrenceburg, Tennessee and Columbia, Tennessee instead of the usual route I take through Pulaski, Tennessee. I don't think I've been through Lawrenceburg since I was in college (not much has changed), but I'd never been to David Crockett State Park, so I thought I'd run by there and see what I could find. I got a few photos.

Warm night in Nashville

Tuesday night (April 19) was an seasonably warm evening with clear skies. I decided it was not the kind of night to just sit inside, so headed out downtown to the Courthouse and the courtyard there. It has some potential for some good photographs there. I didn't have my tripod or anything so I was a little limited on what I could do.
It is a cool place...as long as you don't have to go to court...ha.

Hike at Bells Bend

So my photography group SNAP had a "field trip" day a couple of weeks ago to Bells Bend Park just north of Nashville, on the Cumberland river. I didn't make it the day they went because it was COLD and RAINY. So I went today which was MUCH warmer and nicer. Our next meeting we will share prints of photos we took. These are the ones I came up with. It was a nice peaceful walk with the smell of cedar in the air.
