My camera
Misc Old Shots

It is good to run across these from time to time, because I lost most of them when my external hard drive crashed. These were all taken in early 2008 just after I got my new camera (Pentax K10D). (Click the pic)

Following the Moon
I took photographs back on September 18 and then some photographs two nights ago on October 25 and there are some striking differences. Although the bright images aren't really clear in regard to the moon itself...I love how the clouds seem to be playing around the moon (which actually looks more like the sun since it is so bright later in the night).

Tennessean Photo Contest Winner

I won a 4 day and 3 night stay on the Gulf Coast, and $800 gift card from Southwest Airlines.
I sold the gift card on Craig's List and I'm saving the trip for sometime in the Spring or early Summer of 2011.
This image was taken in Grand Teton National Park in June, 2010.

Nice Email
The boat image.
Dear Paul Beavers
We have added an image from your recent work on MYARTSPACE to our front page media window which shows interesting work from selective artists. We want to highlight excellent work such as yours on the site and the media window is a great vehicle for that. Congratulations! More details about our featured art can be found below.
Warm Regards,
Catherine McCormack-Skiba
Founder and Chief Creative Officer
CatMacArt Corporation
Less than 5% of all artists on myartspace get featured. The speed of that may have seemed nearly like a computer response to posting your work. I can assure you all our featured images are hand selected, mostly as the images come in daily but sometimes art can be featured from past galleries. Or there can be days or weeks of time since the initial display of work. We sometimes miss great work but we try our best to feature the most current, remarkable art across all genres.
All incoming work, (including featured work), can be seen under the filter option by selecting the most recent pull down menu when selecting artists, galleries or images.
Will Martin Photo Shoot
"Ham" comes to mind. Ha ha. This was crazy, but fun! Dragging a 3 1/2 year old out to a cemetery for some photos...and he was not in the mood. Somehow we managed to get him to let me take a handful of photos and a few actual turned out okay. This type of photography is VERY VERY NEW for me, but this was really good practice.
Good Job Will! (and Lee!) (CLICK THE PIC)

A Gorgeous Day on the Natchez Trace

Fall is my favorite time of year, because of all the color.
Around 10am today, I decided it was a great time to grab my camera, jump in the car and head southwest to the Natchez Trace! It took me about a 1/2 hour just to get to the "jumping on" place in West Nashville...but it was so peaceful and the sky so blue and the trees were very pretty.
On my way back I got off the Trace and drove on Old Hillsboro Road through Leper's Fork and Hillsboro...beautiful. My favorite thing was the old store I ran across with the red, weathered wood. Great shadows and great color!

Nashville Flood: Recovery of Another Kind

I'm pretty pumped! I found some of my photographs from the Nashville flood on Flicker and they are a decent size! I've uploaded them to the Picasa site. I'm still hoping to one day get my external hard drive that crashed to the floor (with virtually all of my photography) fixed one day. Until then it will have to be an unopened "time capsule."

Chihuly @ Cheekwood Daylight
Was at Cheekwood again yesterday for a workshop and took my camera.
Ran off during my breaks and got some shots of the Chihuly glass works.
Some different looks with all the reflection on the water...etc.

Tennessee State Capitol Building
So I made a visit to the Southern Festival of Books today. Hit a couple of sessions, including Harold Ford, Jr. speaking in the General Assembly room. It was a great day to take photographs at the Capitol because there weren't so many people there.
The book festival was okay, but a little disappointing in the selection of topics this year. It was a nice Fall day to get out and enjoy the morning! I always like spending time in Legislative Plaza and at the War Memorial Building...which I also took a few photographs of this morning.

Chihuly @ Cheekwood
The Chihuly exhibit at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens, here in Nashville was amazing. Here are a few photographs I tried to take. The lighting was difficult without my tripod!(Not to mention the 100s of people I stepped on in the dark, or that bumped into me while trying to take a photograph! ha ha)
